We accept the 30 hours extended funding but do not offer it ourselves
For those children who opt out of funding we charge £6.75 per hour for three year olds and £8.00 per hour for two year olds. This can be paid by cash, bank transfer or childcare vouchers. We accept various childcare vouchers, alongside the HMRC childcare choices tax free payments.
We also charge a voluntary consumables charge of £1.00 per session on all our Funded places.
Will my childcare be funded?
To find out if your child’s fees will be covered by Funding then please visit www.childcarechoices.gov.uk to check your eligibility. However all children are entitled to 15 hours of Nursery Education Funding from the term after their third birthday.
Here at Little Meadow we open for 38 weeks of the year, other childcare providers are open for 50 weeks.
Children must remain in the provision for a minimum of 2 weeks in order to be eligible for the funding. Please note that if you remove your child from the setting before the qualifying period, you will be liable for all costs incurred.
The Government have recently introduced funding for two year olds. This is aimed at working parents and you need to meet certain criteria in order to apply. Please visit www.childcarechoices.gov.uk to check your eligibility.
Your 2 year old could be entitled to 15 hours a week free early learning childcare. You may be entitled to a free funded place if :
- You meet the eligibility criteria also used for free school meals.
- Your family receive working tax credits and have annual gross earnings of no more that £16,190.
- Your child has an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or a current statement of Special Educational Needs.
- Your child is in receipt of Disability Living Allowance.
- They are in the care of the Local Authority, have left care through special guardianship order, child arrangements order or an adoption order.

You can start claiming free early education from the term following your child’s 3rd birthday.
- 1st January and 31st March
April (Summer Term) - 1st April and 31st August
September (Autumn Term) - 1st September and 31st December

From September 2017 the Government announced the extended entitlement of an additional 15 hours for working parents.
To be eligible you and any partner must each expect to earn (on average) at least £120 a week (equal to 16 hours at the National Minimum or Living Wage). If you, or your partner are on Maternity, paternity or adoption leave, or you are unable to work because you are disabled or have caring responsibilities, you could still be eligible. You cannot claim the extended entitlement if you or your partner expect to earn £100,000 or more. You will also need to renew your application every three months.

You can start claiming Nursery Education Funding from the term following your child’s 3rd birthday. Eligible two year olds can claim from the term after their 2nd birthday.
If you exceed the 15 hours funding allocation from the Government you will be charged for those hours. A funding shortfall at Little Meadow is charged at £6.75 per hour for three year olds and £8.00 for two year olds.
