Session Information

Often referred to as pre-school or playgroup, Children benefit from a three hour session up to 5 mornings per week.

Many children that join us at this point are in their early education. Sessions are slightly more structured and not only build on previous progress but also incorporate more thought provoking challenges through 4 specific areas.

Rising 5’s sessions at Little Meadow are offered to all children the academic year prior to them starting compulsory education. Priority is given to children that have enjoyed their Rising 3’s sessions with the Little Meadow Group when places are oversubscribed.

Individualised care

Sessions run five mornings a week 9.00-12.00 with parents invited to select up to five sessions on their preferred days where availability allows.
With many children that join us at this point in their Early education, achievements have been made in the three prime areas, sessions are slightly more structured and not only build on previous progress but also incorporate more thought provoking challenges through the 4 specific areas.
Staff observe and record the children’s interests and then using these themes weave into the day areas we wish to cover. There is a balance of adult led and child initiated activities that ensure each day is different, challenging and fun, that the children are often learning without realizing. Similar to Rising 3’s there is an overarching routine:

Am I entitled to funding and how much does it cost?

All children are entitled to 15 hours funded nursery hours from the term after their third birthday, this is administered by the setting. Some children are also entitled to an additional 15 hours extended funding.  We also accept the Working Parent Entitlement for Two year olds.

FAQ's

How do I enrol my child?

You are encouraged to bring your little person for a visit to Little Meadow and see what we have to offer. No appointment is necessary as our belief is that it is important for children and parents to see us as we are each day. For this reason we operate an open door policy. On visiting the building and speaking to the administrator, once receiving our safety information, you will be escorted around the setting.

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. After your show around, you will be invited to complete an Expression of interest form which will then place your child on our waiting list and we will at this point discuss the process further with you.

Alternatively you can complete and return an Expression of Interest form from this site and either post it, email or bring it in to the office. You will then shortly after receive a letter from us confirming receipt and advising of the admissions process. We will keep in touch with you every step of the way.

Does my child need a uniform?

At Little Meadow we do engage in some very messy activities and would hate any child to be prevented from accessing all that is on offer for fear of spoiling their clothes. For this reason a uniform is available but not compulsory. Uniform can be purchased from the setting office and is a lovely introduction to the children of wearing certain clothes at certain times.

Further information can be found on the uniform page.
